Just looking at trying to do this.Nationwide open within a few days - quick process from memory if you already have one (but only one gets the decent interest for one year). If you and partner both have Nationwide and a dead account elsewhere you can get £50 each switching bonus if you use their RAF scheme (note you need to keep account open for 3 months before closing or they take the bonus back).

You generally need the debit card too to switch - if you are no longer getting top interest in the original Nationwide, you could switch that one?
