If it's already been posted on another site that will most likely account for a lot of the free sample requests. As pk04 says, the orders are likely to be cancelled if they can't be fulfilled.Debt free 6th December 2014

I saw the offer of a free sample on another website, so I can remove the link but that's not going to stop it being posted elsewhere.
What do people think?
He was really nice, and said he doesn't mind sending if genuine customers but he knew something was wrong as everyone ordering the same thing.
the orders come to his inbox so he has to sift through to find the genuine customers. good find but looks like it would be a waste of time for anyone else, sorry.
they are genuinely cool envelopes though. so asked him to send one of the black and pink, so we can see if would be suitable to send our event packs in (event tickets ect) which site is it on?0 -
Afternoon all
as it's been a day for discussion topics such as tin foil and loo roll
I would like to test you out on a response I've just had regarding a long drawn out financial matter.
After chasing up an email I sent that had not been responded to for 3 week I get a reply that totally avoids any reference to the repeated queries I have raised and says............."xxx are close to making a decision so I would hope to be in contact with you in the very near future"
I am so tempted to respond asking for a definition of the very near future and that as my queries not responded to I assume all have been dealt with appropriately.
I loathe dealing with people who try to give me the run around0 -

What do people think?
Did the company actually ask Siobhan to request the link was deleted?
I thought the whole point of companies giving away free samples was to increase their business. If they are offering up to 5 free samples as an enticement to get more customers then they will achieve their goal more quickly by you keeping the link (providing people don't get too greedy and order multiple freebies - which the company can soon weed out anyway by keeping a simple spreadsheet of addresses).
The price for 100 of the medium size envelopes is 49.50 (without VAT). This makes them 49p each so even if you order 5 then the cost to the company shouldn't be more than about £2.50 (assuming typical 100% markup). This means that for every 100 people getting freebies it costs the company £250. If just 10% of people requesting samples go on to buy a box of 100 then the company stand to make £250 for every 100 people getting freebies - i.e. no loss to them and lots of advertising!
If it really is a small family business and they are that worried then they should be able to modify their website within an hour and/or email people who've ordered and explain the orders cannot be fulfilled.
Personally, I think I'd leave the link up at the moment.“A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.”

Have to say that I use an alias phone number when it comes to these type of free samples.
Lots of random people may be getting phone calls asking for 'karlie88'.
:rotfl:
Then again, I get a load of phone calls asking for a Mrs Christmas?! And another for Mr Higginbottom!?
