Poor lad! My Ds age 16 had a similar incident yesterday, came off his skateboard and landed on his head, knocked himself out briefly. Luckily some very kind motorists stopped, called an ambulance, and called me. Despite being told it was a young lad with a head injury (his head was bleeding) and query spinal injury (thankfully there wasn't) the ambulance never came. When phoned again they said they had none to send. :o

He was very lucky, an off duty medic (think he was a trainee as he said he wasn't qualified to check for spinal injury) stopped and helped, then after around 50 minutes an ambulance response car was passing and we flagged it down. After being checked over he was happy no neck or spinal injury, and he took us to hospital, who I have to say were brilliant at checking him over, bandaging 2 particularly nasty grazes and glueing his head! He really was so lucky.

Disgusted that cuts to ambulance service left him in that position though.

Am currently listening to the boyzone concert that is taking place about a mile from where I live, and I can hear through my bedroom window!

Glad he's OK! We struggled to get an ambulance when we had a student in pain. They diverted us to the non-999 number who told us it wasn't urgent as the person was conscious. She was screaming in pain and we had to get somebody savvy to use trigger phrases to get them to send an ambulance. I despair at what things are coming to.

So arrogant they are. It took me days to track them down, because they re-route their calls through foreign call centres but after trawling various forums and websites, I found them.
I phoned the company and they point blank refused to remove my number, well said they couldn't. So I told them fine, keep calling and I will send you an invoice for my time on a weekly basis. I was getting over 40 calls a week by this point  after the first 2 invoices the calls stopped. The reasonable amount of time I gave them to pay the invoices is just about up too.
There was a chap on the radio who sent an invoice to some company that was bothering him to charge them for hassle and disruption. They sent him a cheque and he was sure it was because he'd charged them £19.06. If he'd just sent a bill for a round number they'd have just assumed he just made a number up from thin air but the fact there was a 6p in there would make them think "this guy know how much everthing costs and has done the proper sums!" :rotfl:
