    You don't have to make a claim for it to affect your no-claims bonus, they ask if you have had any accidents/incidents not claims.

    I thought that was only if you tell the insurance?. I wanted him to inform the police but not bother with the insurance.

    Someone on here said they were rethinking their ideas now they had looked into it more

    I just cant see how we can be financially independent and better of. Just my opinion

    It is - just that you don't have to actually make a claim for it to affect your insurance. So if you told them this happened when you renewed it would probably affect your premium even though you haven't claimed. Hence keep shtum.
