Cemap .....finding work after passing cemap exams .

Hello,
I would be very interested to know how easy you found it to obtain employment in the mortgage industry after completing the CeMAP course ...all parts 3 in total . And if anyone has gone on to do the equity release CeRER course please ?
There seems to be hundreds of mortgage advisor jobs out there however the majority appear to only want experience and very little for newly qualified.
The training firms who offer the CeMAP course up until recently made no mention of Compentent advisor status which has to be acquired after the CeMAP qualification was passed.
This believe can take another 6 months to obtain but in a working environment .
Does anyone know if there are training firms who specialise in CAS ?
And has anyone gone straight into Equity release and by passed mortgage advice employment .
It seems you need some years mortgage experience before you would be considered for a role in equity release.
Therefore would it be worth studying for CeRER after CeMAP if you have no employment .
Would DipMAP help get a position with a brokers ,bank ,building society?
Even with DipMAP one still would not have CAS of course.
I would be grateful to hear of experiences after the time and expense of obtaining CeMAP / CeRER from anyone out there .
Thank you

I am not a mortgage professional but I have worked in financial services pretty much all my life and been authorised as a employee benefits/healthcare consultant with the FCA.

The best place to look for a position is through one of the industry publications such as mortgage strategy(also online), which will have a link to the available jobs in your sector.

Check this link out, you may need the advice of a recruitment consultant and their contacts initially.

You could also check out a broader recruitment website such as reed. There are tons of trainee roles on here:

Good luck! You are already ahead of the game by doing these qualifications under your own steam. Once you are qualified keep going, the standards of professionalism are rising within our industry and you need to keep ahead of the competition. I don't know DipMap, but if its a level 4 qualification, definitely consider it.
