A calendar on the wall upstairs next to the phone, and a calendar in the kitchen that I check every morning. What am I doing today? Am I going anywhere? Have I got a free day to do as I please?

    Debt-free and Proud!
I have a list on my phone with the dates various payments go out, as my DH gets paid weekly I don't have DDs set up for all payments so I can make payments fit in with what money is coming in when, and it seems to work OK. Means I can see what money I really have left for the rest of the week.

Cooking-wise I try to get a couple of things batch cooked at the weekend, I try not to have to do batch cooking during the week, although last night I did manage to get 2 lunches for both us made up for this week. This weekend will be a big batch cooking one has I have really run my stocks down having been busy recently.

As for lists and things, I make a list of things I need to achieve during the week and at the weekend. During the week I have a big pad of paper on my desk in front of my keyboard at work, and I jot down any personal things I need to do at lunch time on there and that keeps me up to date. At the weekend, DH and I will discuss what needs doing, and work out what free time we will have and what we'll do with it once any errands are run. we don't really ahve a system for that, but it does seem to work.

I have a large calender in my kitchen and as things like appointments, library books due back etc all go on there, also my DGS different things as I am their carer before and after school, so have to remember to do sports days ,prize giving, assembly's etc so there is always someone there to see them when they are doing things at school.Their Mum and Dad both work long hours and have very little spare time,so I keep up to date with their jabs,Drs,and dentist stuff as well.

I also fit my U3A and various clubs in around their schedule.Cooking and batch baking is done at weekends along with housework and washing and ironing .I also knit ,swim, and visit friends inbetweentimes so I have to keep a record of where I am supposed to be and on what day.I seem to juggle things about OK though :):):)

Thanks for all the thoughts, some great systems here! I actually really liked the idea of doing a to do list in reverse. I suppose it would be more rewarding to sometimes take stock of how much I do get done.

We have an unfilled in calendar hanging in the kitchen so have sat and tried to do some planning in that and in the trusty filofax. I am going to look for a weekly tear off pad. I have also reinstated the meal plan :)

I got something similar to this in the poundshop. At the end of the week, just carry forward anything you need, tear off the old and start again!

I have something similar to this too so I will dig it out tomorrow as there are some good suggestions on this thread :)

I run a business from home, so I have a page a day diary filled with work related things I need to do, a section with house related jobs, all the appointments for the kids and what shifts my husbands on so I no how many I'm cooking for. With 3 little kids the cleaning is done daily and as I'm usually up at about 6am I do my cleaning in bulk before the school run. I buy 7 meals, lunch stuff etc a week. I jig what meals we have when based on my husbands shifts which change every single day. Organised chaos. I also have a book I write money saving ideas in, big jobs that need doing, decorating and costs etc. X
