endowment claim result

Options
well we put in a claim a year ago and although we didn't expect to get anything in my head I was planning a world cruise lol luckily I didn't book it as we got a result today - £480 - not as much as I would liked but its ok considering I thought we were time barred and we surrendered one of the polices in 2007 and sold the other one the same year, oh well the world cruise will have to wait

Even better, the seller will post it!
I would love to see postman pat with that under his arm trying to get it through your letter box.

Did they not give you a letter explaining how they came to that amount?

Did you complain to the company or the financial ombudsman? If you were not happy with the amount have you accepted it? If so, why?

By 2007, many endowments were getting back on track on (even though statements may have shown shortfalls). We had just had nearly 5 years of continuous growth. So, you sold at a peak.

The compensation is designed to put you back in the position you would have been in had you chosen a repayment mortgage rather than an endowment. The difference between the two was likely small, particularly if you sold at a peak.
