Ok a little about me I'm 36 with a dd 2 cats and I've decided I'm too old to be this much in debt. I was doing ok I was at uni doing my first year of my degree then the words I never ever wanted to hear came from my amazing mums mouth she had cancer. I felt my life fall apart and suddenly she needed me more than I could imagine. She now been given the all clear and I need to take control again.

Ok for the debt part:
Mum £6045
Dwp £710
O/d £2000
Loan £1500
Vc £290
Co £470
Hc £1020
Total £12033.19

That's scary to look but I will get rid of it.
Right the plan is to be debt free by this time next year so I need to pay £878.75 a month off and that's going to take some serious budgeting but I know I can do it if I keep strong. First that needs clearing is vc as the interest is high i plan to clear this on the 29th completely the od is interest free at the moment as its on my student account.
Meal plan this week:

Sat salmon pasta me crispy chicken hg potatoes sweetcorn dd

Sunday gammon hg potatoes hg salad

Monday left overs

Tuesday fish in parsley sauce mash peas

Wednesday veg and chicken korma with rice

Thursday leftovers

Friday hm pizza made with leftovers in the fridge

Ok that's enough ramblings for one day

  • I've had a good sort out this afternoon I have enough cleaning products to last the rest of the year also enough toiletries to last as well. I've made two fruit tea loaves one has gone in the freezer and the other is for mine and dds lunches. I have found some spare change which has gone into a tub which I intend to put towards debts at the beginning of the month every little will help. I need to keep on track and remember what want which is to be debt free.

  • My friend gave me the money she owed me tonight im going to keep it aside and keep paying debts off each month so i now have £26.17 to use at the end of the month im hoping to get it to a £50 total or at least the £43.19 to round off my mums debt. The vanquis card will be paid on the 29th so i dont need to throw any money at that. I feel bad about owing her so much i know she needs it. Im very proud of my little savings they mean more now as i have a plan and my lbm has deffinatly happened for me.

  • Ive had a long hard look at where my money goes and dd pointed out i spend £3 a week just on drinks for work the new me is going to buy a large cheap bottle of pop and fill my water bottle up thatll be a £2.50 a week saving even more if i get extra work. My other love is coffee and i have 200 coffee pods so the old coffee maker has been dug out i wont need coffee for a good few months now. I need to use the things up i have and save what I would have spent.
