Wow some of you have so many cloths.

I have a dish-cloth for the dishes and use a j-cloth and kitchen roll for the bathroom and another cloth for the kitchen. A floor cloth for the bathroom and another for the kitchen. I have dusters somewhere but they rarely get used!! :o

I don't like disposables like kitchen roll. We have lots of wood work that needs lots of cleaning skirtings doors etc, and switches, I find cloths best for that, and better that dusters for dusting tbh.

I've got too many as well, but mine also get used on the car. You need special ones for different areas there, too.

Dont forget, though - no fabric softner on the microfibre, as it upsets the fibres it seems.

And on glass, doesnt anyone else use newspaper instead of cloths, for cleaning - then maybe microfibre to buff after?

Yes, I prefer news paper, but....we rarely get them any more! I still like vinegar though. :)

I have more important things to do than 'allocate' colour-coded cloths to various rooms.

It's J cloths for sinks and grab various dusters, namely old vests for dusting and windows.

I have a scrubby sponge and cloth in bathroom for sink, bath and skirting birds etc and use disposable cloths for toilet. For kitchen I use cloths and scrubby sponge for washing up. I use a microfibe cloth for glass cleaning and dusting and think I've 3 of them and that's it.

Lost in rates, I have to say I'm with you in your camp, I must have 40 or 50 cleaning cloths and use them for everything. Mostly are e-cloths that I have bought over the years and they are all in good condition. I use cloths to clean everything then they go in a 90 wash.

I have another box of brand new e-cloths that haven't even been opened yet which I will use when the others are totally ruined. I have half a dozen dusters, and old flannels too.

OCD of cloths I think eh. So I wouldn't get rid of your stash.

Good grief reading this I've just realised I'm a cloth monster.

I have thick knitted dishcloths and dual sponges soft side / silver side for dishes that don't go in the dishwasher. I have stripey dishcloths for general wiping and cotton tea towels and glass cloths for drying. For cleaning I have white cloths for paintwork, bathroom red trim, kitchen blue trim and big floor cloths. I have lint free cloths and chamois for the windows. For drying and polishing I like the thin microfibre dusters and ecloths.

Woe betide anyone who mixes them up, they are all good quality and have lasted forever, I never use disposable cloths. I use strong kitchen roll for spills and have magic erasure sponges, toothbrushes, antibac' wipes and toilet wipes. I'm sure I will have missed stuff out.

I have a MF cloth in the loo.. I clean a bit every time I go in there otherwise it get manky and takes ages.

I have a MF in the bathroom.. same again.. I go in and clean a bit.

I have 2 or 3 mf's on the go in the kitchen.. they are washed when needed and are used for everything.

    I have a mf for polishing mirrors/windows

thick bleach, washing up liquid or flash spray is used to clean everything.. and harpic for loo.

I don't dust so no dusters.. actually I may have one OH uses for shoe polishing! I wipe dusty spots with a damp cloth, it gets rid of dust rather than flicking it into the air to resettle in exactly the same places! I do have a feather duster for spider web destruction.. I hate webs!

I have a steam mop I use for windows and carpet spots. It gets used once very 2-3 months!

I use those sponges with green scrubby side in the kitchen too.. and I have some exfoliating gloves for cleaning bathroom tiles because they are amazing!

Well at least its not just me!

I do chuck some I've used for nasty jobs, or that look grotty, but I have a few with holes or clean but stained. I think I'm going to get rid of the holey ones ( often favorite ones, so most used) and try and have a sort out. Also, I've decided to make a stash of hand towels for the outside wash room and keep them separately to be replaced regularly but not confused with house stuff, and pair down utility hand towels too.

Advice from the microfibre bunnies please. I got a few many years ago, including ones to polish silver. Also quite thick cloths that feel rubbery. I think some of them might have been Lakeland freebies.

Typically, I used them once then forgot about them. I went back to using cotton cloths.

Me being stupid,I didn't put the microfibres and the rubbery ones back in their packets. I'd stupidly chucked the packets. So now I have no clue as to what cloth did what. !!!!!! were the rubbery ones for????????
  • I`ve got loads of cleaning cloths too - just about everything BUT j-cloth (hate these). Lots of microfibre, old vests/pants/towels. Nothing gets chucked till it`s used to death, things go from `clean` jobs to grotty jibs, then in the bin.
If you have dogs you can`t have too many cloths.
