Natwest original docs

Options
just started an application with natwest, they want 3 months bank statements and proof of deposit, ok no problem so far.

apparently (I can't get thru to the broker to check) but they want all original statements, ok not quite so easy as I thought.

however try and get a paper statement from any bank...."oh just print it from your online account, that will be fine"

does anyone know if natwest do/would accept printed versions?

as I say, I would contact our broker to ask but I can't get through currently

thanks

they will accept online statements - your broker just needs to certify them and fax or post them (as natwest have not got in the modern world yet).

thanks, thats certainly good to know others have been able to.

seems crazy that with all the 'electronic' checking they then want 'paper' statements, for a bank that says its 'helpful banking' they sure need to get with the times

why is a 'paper' or posted statement so much better than one printed off the web? surely if someone was determined enough or so inclined they could forge either?!

I will never again have any financial arrangements with natwest. I can't work out how a mortgage in principle of £270k be reduced to 199k when the information hasn't changed from when 1st submited. having had an offer accepted the seller has now pulled out and selling to someone else. Meanwhile I've found another property and virgin have no issue armed with the same info. These underwriter gods make me sick!!
An ex business associate of mine has reported similar problems with them for a BTL mortgage. He banks with them for all accounts including his business with £600k sat in there, first class credit rating yet they were still being highly unreasonable.

I query this with the nationwide, as long as you download it to pdf and it will show the hyperlink at the footer of the page. Then they will accept it.

I wasn't going to pay £5 per statement to halifax, they ask me to go online in the first place. typical...
