Odd Twitter followers

I have no objection to people following me on Twitter.. the more the merrier as it gives me leeway to follow other pages.
However I do wonder why sometimes. I can understand other compers following but .....
I seem to be having a run of very fit looking male and female fitness instructors and ermm "Adult toy" pages at the moment
Why ??

Been entering any comps for "back massager"? I think they just pick up on words from your twitter page and add you. I get a lot of beauty/fashion companies adding me.Make £10 per day-
June: £100/£3000 -
i don't mind
some of them have nice pictures0 -
I have some odd followers too. I don't know if they follow you in the hope that you will follow back, then perhaps when the twitter account has a good number of followers or something, perhaps they sell it or something?
I never follow them back, but I don't block them either. If it increases the number of people that follow me, it means when I get enough, I won't hit the 2000 limit.0 -
Plonk your followers in to lists that you later delete and you don't have to worry about a limit.
I do private lists for each month (I currently have a june which I will delete soon now it's mid-july, a july, and an august.) Sort companies/handles by end date of competition. eg - when you follow/rt to enter also add them to the appropriate list.
Each mid-month, go to the previous month's list, click 'list members' and unfollow all members before deleting the list.
If you enter a second comp with them, just remove from the earlier list and refile them under the correct month for the new comp's end date.
Hope that's making sense. It's so easy, everyone should do it.Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!0 -

I think you are talking about the people you follow, not your followers. I'm not going to bother to put my followers into lists, as I don't mind how many of them follow me.0 -
Yes, I was, but if you don't have a worry over the 2000 limit then you can block all the spam accounts without worrying about trying to increase your limit.Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!0

Each to their own. I tried it for a while but it becomes a real pain if you do a lot of twitter comps, so I stopped after a few days. Better to have tried and failed than to never have tried at all! :rotfl:

It's probably in the minority but I have seen a few posts by companies/people running comps along the lines of if you follow when we have a comp, unfollow when we don't and refollow when we have a new one - don't expect to win0
