Best washing liquid or powder.

Options
Hi, What do people think the best washing powder or washing liquid is? I've recently been using Persil gel capsules biological and I've used the Aldi Almat ones as well. To be honest they dont get marks out of things properly and I'm washing on the correct programme.
So whats the best? do people think powder is better than the gel as well. Im not bothered about the cheapest either. Thanks.
I've jst got some Daz powder and Ariel 3 in 1 capsules, so I'll give them a try.

    I personally prefer the powder.

Not for any other reason than that's what I have always used and the powder has a built in scent just like the gel/liquid.

If the clothes are stained/marked I use a vanish soap bar (old product) and lather over the stains, then I pop the item in the washing machine, I always use a 40oC wash nothing higher and I have perfectly clean washing.

I sometime buy the Iceland own brand washing powder at £2 for a large box, or the more named brands which go on special.

Personally I use Ariel liquid or Persil liquid most of the time, but prefer to use powder on whites and use aldi almat for that.

I will add a scoop of oxygen bleach if something is stained, and I'm currently experimenting with soda crystals.

I don't like surf or bold, I don't know why but the results are never great for me. Colours fade, stains don't wash out etc. I do like Daz powder for whites but find that it can affect my DH so avoid it now.

I prefer the liquid-tabs, or tablets to a big box of powder. Purely for storage reasons.

I use soapnuts (http://www.inasoapnutshell.com/index.html). I don't know how effective they are against serious staining - never noticed - but I do find them a good option overall (eco-friendly, cheap, easy to use).

Then again, back in the day when I used washing powder, I never noticed how each brand was better or worse than another either.

    Arial powder all the way
  • I've used plenty over the years and Arial powder was always my preferred choice until I discovered Aldi Almat powder which is excellent and IMHO is just as good as Arial. I also find that liquids tended to leave gunky residues so stay away from them. As you're probably aware Aldi Almat is a Which best buy and on a par with Arial

I usually used Ariel, but recently tried Prudax from Morrisons.
    Brillilant!
  • Persil liquid. Costs more but i use less as it smells stronger.
