Hi
Completed full save to buy mortgage app in branch on monday which was approved. During this the advisor told us that we currently have enough saved to qualify for £500 cashback but once we transferred in the remainder of our savings prior to completion then we'd get £1000.
Had a call from him today to say this was incorrect and the cashback is based on the amount at time of application so we will only be eligible for £500. He apologised and said as a gesture they'd refund the £99 fee. I emailed him confirmation that we were happy and wished to proceed on this basis.
He then phones back a bit later and says unfortunately head office have said that because incorrect info has been keyed in for the application it has to be cancelled and we've got to restart again with another full app and interview in branch and he's on holiday next week!
Have we got any hope of getting this reversed if we complain or speak to head office? Any other advice?
Thanks!
