Sounds like a good plan, you will get the hang of meal planning and never look back, as soon as you have room in the freezer batch cooking will be great. Today I had a large pack of quorn that I divided up into four to defrost. I made tomato sauce from a few tins of chopped tomatoes, few garlic cloves and a spoon of mixed herbs (21p in supermarket and very versatile). I used one quarter of the mince in the sauce and put in the freezer to be used as spag Bol, another quarter I also added sauce too and and made a lasagne with, a quarter I added some chillis and chilli powder, pur!e and some of the sauce too for a tasty chilli with half a tin of kidney beans. The last bit has been made into cottage pie for tonight's tea which I will serve with salad. The salad I will make a huge bowl that will last three days and will be served tomorrow with quiche and Tuesday with maybe lasagne, Wednesday will be pitta pizzas made with pitta, dome of the leftover sauce from today that I will freeze in a nice cube tray for pizza sauce and bit if cheese and last bit of salad, Thursday and Friday we will probably have something I froze last week and the chilli and spag Bol will be saved till next week. A whole week if meals and less than 1.5hrs if my time today. Forward planning is key.0

Toad in the Hole: Cheap/packet mix for 15p + 2 eggs. Whisk, stand and pour. Pack of sausages. Oven on, sausages in a bit of oil for 5 minutes (or not, doesn't matter). Pour batter on/round. Serve after 25 minutes with some baked beans.
And variations .... e.g. sausages/chopped onions, sausages/mixed herbs.0
