I didn't think this was available to private sellers? I can just imagine people leaving feedback based on their experience in Argos. Low for comms cos the Argos staff didn't smile. Low for P&P cos I had to pay P&P and petrol/parking at Argos. Low for dispatch cos I couldn't get to Argos until the weekend etc

I think this is a good point - what happens if a buyer fails to collect it? No doubt it'll be the seller who ends up getting it in the neck.

Sometimes buyers can't even be bothered to collect itesm from a sorting office, or be re-arrange a missed courier - are they really going to want to go to Argos and stand in a queue for 20 minutes on a wet saturday afternoon?

What happens if the buyer gets home and wants to return it - how does the item get back to the seller? Will Argos check the return carefully?

I'd need to see solid answers - realistically my customers are not the typical Argos / Poundshop type buyers, so I can't see me ever needing to worry about it, but Ebay have a habit of rolling stuff out and not thinking about the back-end!

If you read the information that Ebay provide you get all your answers. If they don't collect it will be no different than if they did not collect from a sorting office. It will be returned and you will have to refund. If they want to return it then they will have to return it directly to you. Argos will have nothing to do with the return.

Also wouldn't worry if your buyers aren't the normal Argos type buyers. They let absolutely anyone in Argos. Even the type of people that buy from you. They don't have a dress code or anything. You don't even have to wipe your feet as you go in anymore.

Has that been stated somewhere? I was under the impression that you could return it to Argos who will then return it to the seller - or is that just for the big sellers?

Ebay are being unusually coy about the real cost.
There is no mention of how much it will cost.

As it looks like you still have to use a courier to collect it and deliver it to the Argos store, then it will be just as easy to let the courier deliver it direct to the customer.

Items can't be returned to Argos stores, but buyers can return items directly to you according to your returns policy. The returns period - when buyers need to inform you that they want to return an item, starts as soon as the item arrives at the Argos store not when the item is collected.

You can use a range of couriers and Royal Mail. I think Ebay are actually thinking of the convenience to the buyer rather than what is easier for you. As I mean those ungrateful buyers giving you their money and wanting something that is easy for them in return is just outrageous.

In order for your listing(s) to be eligible for Click & Collect:

You need to offer FAST & FREE Fast & Free with an eligible carrier and service
If you've currently selected 'Other 24-hour courier' or 'Other 48-hour courier,' update your listings to offer an approved service from 1 of these 5 carriers:
    Carrier Approved service
Royal Mail Royal Mail 24, Royal Mail 1st Class, Royal Mail 1st ClassSigned For, Royal Mail Special Delivery™ 1.00pm, Royal Mail Special Delivery™ 9.00am, Royal Mail Tracked 24
    Parcelforce Parcelforce 24, Parcelforce 48
UPS UPS Next Day (UPS Express & UPS Standard)
DPD DPD Next Day, DPD Two Day
    Yodel Yodel 24, Yodel 48
Your item must be less than 20kg. No one side of the parcel can exceed 120cm and the second-longest side can't exceed 76cm, including packaging. If you sell items over these limits, make sure you've stated that in your listing or opted out these listings. Any items that are too large will be rejected at Argos and possibly disposed of.
Some items in certain categories aren't eligible for Click & Collect. This is mostly due to the item being too large, potentially dangerous or because it isn't compliant

Thanks, first time I've seen that page. Looks like the return to Argos is for the big boys only then.

:rotfl: ... Clearly you're an experienced seller and in touch with the psychology of 'certain' eBay buyers!

As a private seller, I try to reduce the risk of obtaining account damaging adverse feedback, by including P&P in the price and not communicating with buyers, so at least 2 of the 4 DSRs can't be damaged.

I feel bringing Argos into my selling account's equation flies in the face of minimising risk of potential for error and feeback/DSR damage, so "I'm out!"

Thanks for everyone's thoughts on this.
