Competition prize fails to arrive

My significant other half has won an ITV cash prize (Dickinson's Real Deal). He was told he had won 6 weeks ago and the cheque would take up to 28 days. Since that date has passed he has been in regular contact with ITV who are being very vague.


Has anyone else had such delays with ITV cash prizes? We're at a bit of a loss where to go with it as it isn't a consumer issue but is a failure to deliver on a prize.


It's a shame as it has spoiled what was a lovely surprise and an amount of cash that would come in very handy.

Yes took a while for my cheque to arrive too. Im sure it was also about 6/8 weeks..

Thank you - not the only one then. Bit naughty of ITV to say it should be 28 days. 2 weeks ago they told him the cheque was in the post. Last week they said it would be processed by "the date advised" - the date which had already passed! The latest response was that it would be processed by today - we'll see....

Don't know why they can't just do a BACS transfer .......... easier for both parties then

important is you won ITV comp ,dont worry ,they will deliver it soon...start making plans ,dont be heartbroken

Hi Rooibos,

I won ITV Real Deal in April and I got my cheque about 4 1/2 weeks after being notified. I rang them on the 28th day and I was having a bad day anyway so sounded really upset and then my prize came 2 days later with the date I rang up as the issue date on the cheque! - so they issued the cheque after the 28 days which is annoying and probably only because I rang. Just keep ringing and it will come through. It was stressful waiting as I couldn't believe I had won until it was in my hands! But when it comes it is so worth the stress and wait

within a day of posting this I got an e-mail from santander
to check my address and to say cheque was coming next week by special delivery........I won.t hold my breath

The cheque has arrived at last - phew! It seems he's not the only one to have waited....!

I won Family Fortunes back in 2008, so long ago..... £5000! It arrived in a week! I think my nerves would not have lasted if it had took more than that!
