Tickety Split feedback - official discussion

Hi folks,

We've been working on a new version of our TicketySplit split train ticket finder tool, which now includes advance deals, as well as walk-on train fares.

We would love as much feedback as possible if anyone has 5 mins to spare, particularly on any glitches you find in results.

What worked for you, what didn't, and did you had any successes using it? If so, please let us know - just click 'reply' to post. And if you think we've missed something, we'd like to hear about that too.

Here's the link: TICKETYSPLIT

Thank you :)

MSE Sally

It doesn't seem to work for me.

I'm looking for Newport South Wales to London St Pancras and everytime I hit "search" it comes up with:

    "Oops, something went wrong

We can't find any results, but perhaps these links will get you to your destination."

    Grrrr :(
    Thanks to all posters :A
  • Just pointing out that the app doesn't seem to find the cheapest fare when splitting tickets. I know from experience that i can save around £10 each way on my journey from durham to derby by splitting my tickets at York. The app insists on splitting at doncaster and saves only £3. The train definitely stops at york and i have even been given the same seat on the train for both parts of my journey before so i know this to be true. Try it and see...

If you use St Pancras domestic rather than international it works
  • I have a question about split Advance tickets and train delays.

I want to travel from A to D. I must change trains at B. The second train, from B, calls at C on its way to D.

The app suggests one Advance from A to C and one from C to D. Therefore, both tickets are timed.

Now, if delays occur and I miss the connection at B then I'm fine to get a later train from B, at least as far as C, because of the delay.

However, is my second Advance ticket, from C to D, now invalid, because I am on a later train from C to D? Or will the ticket inspector be ok with the fact that I bought split tickets and so I'm allowed to use my second ticket because of delays?
