Hi,
I am looking to get on the property ladder. I live with my parents and married. Both me and my partner are employed by my company which I own. I am paying myself minimum wage (£641 per month) and dividend (12k for 2013 nothing for the previous two years). and my wife is being paid £18k, I am wondering if I can apply for a joint mortgage and what are the likely hood of mortgage getting approved...?
Many thanks for your help. I have spoke to Natwest and HSBC and both are just telling me you can't apply because you're self employed and you must earn same or more dividend for year one and year two, as year three I have paid myself 12k dividend. and I'm really frustrated and down. need to plan what to do..
Any help is much appreciated.

Speak to a broker.
There will be a home for this depending I would imagine.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Personally I would recommend asking your mate dave down the pub before asking an estate agent broker... unless its a small independent estate agent with a broker they recommend (rather than employ).
Alternatively just google for a broker in your area.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
