Employer taking 2 days holiday from me without notice...legal?

A local employment solicitor will usually give one hour/half hour of free advice so that might be something you wish to check out.
An employer has to allow you to accrue holiday leave when you are on maternity leave but paradoxically they do not have to let you roll over holiday to the next year.
It might be worthwhile putting in writing your concerns that you have had approved holiday taken away (and would never have known as nobody informed you), you now have no time to take all your entitled holiday leave before maternity leave starts and ask them to confirm they will roll over your holiday entitlement to the next year.
Keep a copy of the letter and if nothing else it puts your concerns on record.
Not meaning to jump the gun but it's surprising how many women have employment issues when they become pregnant.0
