My contactless Visa Card wins - Help!

Hi all

I'm hoping this is the right place to post.

I won two contactless Visa cards a couple of months ago on the Fifa World Cup competition, each with £100 on them. I have also received pins for both. I was hoping to use them online in combination with an Amazon voucher of £50 I'd won to go towards buying an iPad.

However, I have just gone onto their website and it looks like you can't use them online and the maximum spend is £20. If anybody else won on this competition or knows about these cards, can you tell me if you think I would be able to use these online and for the full amount? Have Googled away, but can't make sense of it all.

I won one of these and used it instore with the PIN with no problems at all - and got the full amount of £100.
I am not sure whether they were meant to be usable on line or not :-/

You just can't use the contactless bit for anything over £20.

You can still use it like a normal chip and pin card for anything over £20 :) xx

Thank you Cagsd and Nelie. Do you think I'd be able to use both as chip and pin for the same transaction? Even if I can't use it with my £50 Amazon voucher, that would still be a £200 saving.

Yeah, the cashier should be able to do it on two (three in total) separate transactions. So tell them you want to put them on two cards and how much you have on each one.

That's how we do cash and card at work. :) x

Or just use them instead of your normal card to pay for your grocery shop etc then use the money saved as you like.

(Sainsburys sell Amazon vouchers so you could just buy them and add them to your amazon account to go with the £50)

I have won a few of these over the years and have mainly used them for my weekly shopping in the supermarkets.

Using them online can be sometimes a problem though as there is no name on the card and no billing address which many online sites ask for.

I was lucky enough to win a £1,000 prepaid Visa a couple of weeks ago and used it to pay the balance on my holiday. I did query with the agent beforehand whether I would be able to use it and they did say it me be a problem as they had to key a billing address. She advised to try it and would see if it would go through and fortunately it did. :D

I won a couple some months ago but find them a pain.

Tried to get foreign currency at airport at counter but machine refused it. Went to cash machine at their desk and it accepts all the details entered then says it can't process transaction.
Gave to wife to pay grocery bills at supermarket

I know; and I used to work in travel. Left things to the last moment. Went to an AI resort so took no currency and just paid with a credit card. Probably just as bad but very convenient. I always pay my cc statement in full every month to avoid interest
