Storage .....

I wonder if any of you lovely people can help ...

Myself and OH live in a shared flat with another couple and a single guy. We have generally quite a large kitchen, but the problem is the lack of storage.

We all have one double cupboard each, then the rest houses the cleaning stuff, pots, pans, plates etc...

Have any of you got any tips on how to "create" more storage, our double cupboard is that full that you have to watch your head when you open it. I hate the idea of not having a stock cupboard but Im finding getting the best out of our budget is becoming more difficult because we cant always take use of YS etc and fresh veg has to be bought every 2 days

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I have enough money to last me the rest of my life......until I go and buy something!

Plastic storage boxes, the clear ones are best. Stackable and you can see what is inside.

I love my lock and lock boxes, very useful.

I use a storage ottoman, which is a sort of nylon box with padded lid, they come in stool or bench sizes, and can be collapsed if not in use. I put all the dry stuff and tins in there, and also things like spare bottles of bleach or detergent, if I've bought some on offer. I use it as a side table for mugs, or pull it out as extra seating if needed. It might also be good for out of season clothes or bedding. It looks fairly neutral, normally they seem available in black or dark brown, and there are some in fake leather finishes. I'm sure there could be a more money-saving version of this, but I find it simple and transportable.

I can touch all kitchen walls without taking a step. I happened to have a cool box to store bulky food items such as cereal or tea.
