My New Way of Thinking

Having seemingly exhausted all obvious streams for additional income, I now feel like I am eagerly waiting for each payslip trying to stick to my strict budgets.
After all my bills etc and my budget allowances, the remaining income goes straight to a debt. Any slip ups on my budget mean I am paying less off my debts and therefore getting charged more interest.
I now imagine that any extra spending I do incurrs interest. That extra pint at the pub? Add interest. That bacon sandwhich from the food van on a Friday? Add interest. It's amazing the things I can now say no to because I don't want to think I'm paying interest for the coming months on a needless buy. No frills beans over a top brand was my first realisation. Who wants to pay more interest than necessary on beans!!
Any way, it gives me a new perspective and a new motivation to stick to budgets - hope it can help some out there too!

It's taken me a long time and alot of inner sadness to realise that I am in a money mess, like you I am so angry about the levels of interest I have to pay. It is such a good feeling though when you actually feel that you are starting to takle it! My page is Tightening my belt and battening down the hatches if yo want to have a squiz at my efftorts, its a good thing doing the blogs, when I read back I can see whereIi gained and lacked inspiration and effort. I feel much more motivated now and it doesnt seem a scary now I'm facing up to it.

That's a really nice way of turning things around. I will borrow if that's ok!
I looked at costa yesterday and previously would have bought a coffee without thinking, now I just think of the money I would have spent and have turned it into an extra bit off one of my debts (just gone self managed on a dmp so feeling really ferociously inspired to get the debt gone) which feels positive.
I spent so long being anxious stressed and depressed because of money, it's not taking another piece of my sanity
I never thought I would feel so positive about money. Debt at highest - June 2013 - 26k/ March 2018 - 2500
Proud to be dealing with my debts0
