Email newsletters... the downside of comping!

So, after a little over 2 years of comping, it's fair to say my email inbox is packed with a ridiculous number of email newsletters every day (and I live in fear of deleting a WEM while skimming them all!)
Today I finally got round to using Unroll.me to unsubscribe from the ones that I have absolutely no interest in / relate to competitions long since expired... (You can also set it to your email newsletters are 'rolled up' into one daily email, which seems pretty handy.)
It turns out I had... 995 email subscriptions!:eek::eek: This despite the fact I always tick the no contact boxes where that's an option!
Just thought some people may find this helpful if they hadn't heard of it before! Anyone else tried it? Any advance on 995??? :rotfl:

I had never heard of unroll.me before, thanks! I was subscribed to 135 but about 50 of that number was websites I intentionally signed up to. I regularly unsubscribe to third party newsletters so glad it's worked to some degree, it's annoying as I too always tick the boxes that I don't want the emails and avoid a lot of competitions where they require you to sign up0

Thanks so much for bringing this app to my attention! I beat you, I had 1,247 subscriptions!!:o I also click to opt out of everything I can as well!
Going to go through and do some unsubscribing!0 -
What a brilliant tip! Didn't have as many subs as some of you, but still it was good to get rid. Thanks for the tip.0

Great service but a bit limiting for people who are not on Facebook or Twitter and don't want to email 5 people telling them about the service. I was only able to unsubscribe from 5 newsletters out of the 150+ that I am signed up for. Not worth joining up to Facebook though

I clicked to share it on twitter but put in the wrong login by accident and when I went back to the site it let me continue to unsubscribe - on another email I just clicked on share but closed the window before loging in and it let me continue to unsubscribe. So in other words you don't actually have to share to continue0 -

Thanks for that, I clicked the Facebook share, didn't log in and went back and deleted the rest of the things I no longer want. Great serviceIf you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0
