Epidural for back pain

I have been suffering with awful back pain for two months. I have been told that I have prolapsed bulging discs. I had an epidural injection 3 days ago and the pain is just as bad. Has anyone had an epidural for back pain & how long does it take to work? Really wanted it work as I'm unable to do my job & have been signed off sick & I don't get sick pay so need to get back to work.

I'm so sorry. I had what sounds similar a couple of years and it was the worst pain I've ever experienced. Mine repaired itself over time, but I took a lot of morphine, diclafenic and anything else they'd give me in the meantime (I have about a month that I remember very little of).
I've only had childbirth related epidural which I'm guessing is different, but I would have thought it would be working by now. Did your dr give any indication? I'd give them a call if not.
If you don't get sick pay can you claim benefits of some kind? With back discs etc you have to be so careful, please don't go back to work too soon.

it can take up to 2 weeks before u feel the full effects so hopefully it will 'kick' in soon
