Hi
Had an offer on a house accepted and have an appointment tomorrow to go through mortgage application. I am confident on affordability and the vast majority of houses in the area sold for more than what I have agreed to pay for this one. However being a nervous FTB I have got a very healthy buffer on top of the deposit - just in case I need to use that to top up the deposit.
I am trying to not spend any money unless needs must so i keep building up the buffer. Are mortgage arrangement fees and the survey fee dealt with in the same way as the deposit ? Ie they can only come from the mortgage applicant, or would it be ok if a friend pays for these ? I hasten to add this is not a loan.
Thanks
