How long?

Hi there, I am new to the forum. I have had a look and can't see the answer to this question anywhere, although I am certain it will have been asked before so I apologise in advance.

Can anyone tell me how long the bankruptcy will stay on my credit files for? I was declared bankrupt in June 2009.

I have looked on google but get answers ranging from 5 years to 10 years.

I thought it was 6 but was unsure if it was from the date of the bankruptcy or the date of discharge.

Thank you for your help

Thank you. That means only one year left.

Will my credit file be clean after that? Assuming nothing else happens in between.

Do I still have to declare it if asked?

and yep if someone later down the line asks "have you ever been bankrupt" you will have to say yes
