Porting RBS Mortgage to a new house but Wife Job has changed

Hi
We are looking to move house and our current mortagage is on a standard Variable Rate at the moment which is very good for us as Its really quite low.
The problem is the mortgage is in my wifes name and she has now changes jobs and looks after our children so I now paid all the bills.
My question is if we wanted to move house to the same value would they let us keep the same mortgage or would I be able to take it over at the same rate?
If not I think we will have to stay where we are and pay as much as we can off until the rates rise hopefully not for a while.
Any advice would be great.
Thank you

Portability is based on you being able to meet the lender's affordability and other criteria at the time.
You will be making an application for a new mortgage on a new property.
You may be able to port the rate to a joint mortgage, but not one in your sole name if it's currently in her sole name.I am a mortgage broker. Thank you for the advice.
In your opinion would they let me joint the mortgage if I met the criteria and let us keep the same rate.
What happen if they said no would they let my wife keep her current deal or would they make us change it once they found out she is not in the same job?
