Sell a holiday? First win though :)

Hi all
I am new to the comping but won a nice little break last week
I didn't realise though there were set dates you could go and would therefore have to sell it somewhere or give it to my dad.
Anyone had experience of doing this?
I was just carried away in the moment of entering but will check all these terms next time i think!
Thanks

I think you're doing the right thing by offering onto another winner, sending you some luck for a more appropriate prize next time

Dont see why you cant give it to a family member. Get in touch with the company its worth a try. Dont worry about what people think. Its your prize, you won it.MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOUR0

Beth38 - first of all well done for winning!
It is annoying when you cannot use a prize but the worst that can happen is that you are no better off. I don't have time to look at T&Cs and so accept that, unless a helpful poster alerts me to exclusions, I take the risk that I may not be eligible or be able to use a prize.
I agree with softpad - try speaking to the competition sponsors. I won a short break that was more suitable for families and, with the agreement of the sponsor, a local hospice are raffling it for charity. A good result all round.
Good luck!Still cracking on....

That's a great idea - and how nice of you to do that Defoe.
Big congrats on your first win. I'm sure they'll let you give it to your family if you ask. :T:T

get in touch with the promoter ! i once won a family break to pontins bognor regis but at the time i was a single parent and disabled so would have struggled driving that far . i asked if my mum and dad could take my children on the holiday and they said yes ! its worth asking if you can give it to your dad , they might say yes xMassive Thank you to all who post comps & answers on here .i'm very grateful , good luck all.

I've just had to pass on a great prize because the travel I was expecting to go by was full by the time I knew I'd won. Upset at first I couldn't even sell or transfer it, but I'm a great believer in Karma. I'm just waiting for my turn.ABCDEFGHIJKL:jNOPQRSTUVWXYZ0

Thanks all and sorry for the late reply, computer has been out of action but horray I have it back!
They let me give it to my dad so I am really pleased as I have had a lot of stress this year and he has been really supportive so its been great to be able to treat him
Now for the Florida win for me, i wish! Thanks again.0 -
Great outcome beth 38 - thanks for letting us know.
It is always best to speak to the promoters who, happily, can sometimes be quite flexible.
Not sure how I would cope if my PC failed - no comping
Good luck in winning what you want!Still cracking on....
