I was just thinking that perhaps a phone call to HMRC might work first of all?0 -
Hi, letter has already gone... will wait and see if it gets sorted if not then will call them.0

After the issuing of a P45 nothing else should happen regarding wages but very occasionally an employer slips up and wages are processed and as there are no wages the system generates a tax refund. If you check your bank statements closely you would have seen this but not everyone does so may be worth a quick look back to see if a rebate was paid possibly spread over two months.0

Hi, no tax refund was made around the time the P45 was issued (I am very good a keeping tabs on our bank accounts so know exactly what goes in and out at any time... not good at much else but was taught well by my gran) Many thanks for the suggestion.0

It seems to have been the new employer that issued the tax rebate in March 2014. It looks like the P45 would have been issued around April/May 2013.
Your husband's March payslip said that he was paid £1042.28 which included the rebate. Was this definitely what your husband received in his bank account?0 -
Yes £1042.28 was paid into his account on the 28 March 2014.0

That's good. Hopefully HMRC will see what's gone wrong in their calculation and amend that.0 -
Thanks, fingers crossed. Will let you know.0
