in Cutting tax
My daughter is filing her first self assessment for year ending April 14. She has been both employed and self employed, and has ticked both sections but it then asks for a business name, which she doesn't have, does she just put her name here?

Yes, if she's a sole trader and doesn't have a business name then her own name will be fine.0

You don't have to enter anything under business name if trading under her own name.0

Presumably she is filling out the long version SA103F as the short version SA103S does not ask for a business name
Box 1 of the long version says
Business name – unless it is in your own name
What does she find difficult to understand there?0 -
It was the online version and did not state those words at all, otherwise it would have been pretty obvious, even to a first timer0

Business name
Please enter your business name. This could be your own name or it could be a trading business name.
You can enter up to 28 characters including spaces
Copied from HMRC
You may have to tick the "?"The only thing that is constant is change.0
