  • If you went through a product transfer mortgage review with Halifax they should ascertain how much you could reasonably afford to pay towards your mortgage each month and then look to transfer as much as you can afford onto repayment within that budget. Inheritance is not a suitable repayment vehicle as you don't know when you might get it.

    Also with inheritances, it might end up being a lot less than you thought, for example if the persons money was eaten up by care home fees.
