    I think it depends upon the area you live.
    Here, Merseytravel issues passes at 60 for local travel on buses; trains, and even ferries.

    I've just been checking the Merseytravel site for how to claim your over 60s pass and noticed some other concessions that may interest people. You may be able to get a free bike; loan to buy a scooter; or anyone that has been long term unemployed and finds a job, may get a one month pass when you start work.

    They let them be used on the 9.28 from Southport to Liverpool, so I expect you'd be okay on your 9.29.
