Depends what you want - How many people REALLY need anything more than about 40 gb for back-ups - large drives only encourage bad housekeeping. The Seagate one comes with a 5 year warranty, so in my book that's a better drive - anything named essentials normally means budget, so in my view the Seagate is better, but the choice is yours - plus it's not mail order.0 -
I recently got a 500gb USB external from ebuyer for £74.99 inc vat & delivery

Seagate probaly produce the BEST quality drives at the moment, which is something that matters when it comes to storing your precious data. In a few computer forums i've been a member of for years it's widely agreed that seagate drives are far better quality products than other brands. Only thing i would say with a lot of drives , is BECAREFULL that you never plug a laptop supply in them. A lot have the same connectors and the power supplys look identical however the voltage for laptops is a lot more , i know on seagates if you plug a laptop power supply in, it will fry to board instantly(Hard drive and data will be fine) to protect the actual drive which is what its meant to do and you will need to get it repaired by a professional. I learnt the hard way.
EDIT:Forgot to mention you also get 5 years warranty on seagate drives which is not something you do unless you know your products are quality.0
