Leek Building Society

Our buyers are using Leek BS.

It took 2 weeks for them to check their paperwork and ask for the money for the valuation, (hes self employed). 4 days later they still have not been in contact to arrange a valuation or contacted our EA for our details.

Am I being impatient, or are they dragging their heels.

Our whole house selling saga has been a long drawn out painful process. Over 6 weeks since we accepted an offer and we are still only at this stage....

Thank You

We're using Leeds at the moment, it's been well over a week since we put our application in and we've heard nothing from them. I'm hoping once the valuations done they'll be quick to give us an offer.

The building society is Leek United, the football clubs are Leek Town and Leek CSOB (which stands for County School Old Boys).

I have visited Harrison Park on several occasions.

Funnily enough, Leek is a bit of a financial hub as both Britannia BS and Leek United are/were based there.

You know stuff like this if you work in the business and have an "ST" postcode.

Be the appointed valuers that will arrange that.
  • I hope this post isn't too late for you! I have used Leek for my purchase and wish I hadn't. 9 weeks ago I submitted my application and still I don't have an offer. They are slow under staffed and not in modern times. You cannot deal with them via email or website everything is done by post. They we slow appointing a valuer and getting that don't, now the worst bit is at the underwriter stage. They approved my took all they money for fees and done credit check. I was approved and application sent to underwriter for offer. It has now been with them for nearly 3 weeks!! They don't like you to phone them to chase up, and they wont prioritise cases. I was last told by them 2 days ago that there was 3 cases in front of mine and they will not pick my case up until next week!!! How long does it take to do each case?! How many staff do they have?! At least 5 days to get through 3 cases? Its a joke. I am on verge of my vendor pulling out of the sale. I am very unhappy and would not recommend the Leek. But they have me now cause taken my money and done credit check. I am stuck :( Please be warned!!!

I used them last year and I managed to have a direct contact who I worked with to get everything through. They weren't the fastest but they were professional and do like to have everything in order.

However they might have been swamped if they are quite competitive at the moment.
