Nasty MBNA phone call

I know i've read on here and on DFW that the calls should be ignored etc and thats theres nothing they can do, but i just had a real nasty one left on my answering machine, deep growling voice telling me that i MUST get in touch NOW and that if i don't then they will be taking further action against me including 'finding another way to speak directly to me':eek:
This has scared me a bit.....i know i know, ignore it, but is there anything they can do? do they come to work places or anything?

You know the answer to the first bit.:)
If you are committed to going BR in the near future there is absolutely nothing they can do that will have any real impact upon you, apart from making idle threats and attempts to intimidate you.
They may try to make you think they will visit your workplace but again this is an empty threat.
I know what it's like to get these sorts of calls, and how even if you know that you can ignore them they can still be worrying when you get them.
As I said, if you are committed to BR then treat them with the contempt they deserve.

Just ignore it-I used to answer mine and tell them I was going bankrupt at which point MBNA started offering to let me pay £1 a month...funny, I said, you wouldn't let me do that 6 months ago when you were charging me £196!Debts Jan 2014 £20,108.34 :eek:

MBNA continued to 'harass' me for three months - after I had told them I was bankrupt. They really are the pits.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

thanks guys, i know they can't do anything (well i thought i knew) but they really got to me tonight, in the past they've been fairly nice.
I have a court date set for 14th August so am def commited-as long as i can find the money for court fees
I might actually face up to answering thre phone next time and saying that i'm about to made BR. Nah they'll keep ringing you every day anyway-they rang me once 3 times in one day, 10 minutes apart-I said on the third call-"Do you really think my circumstances have changed in the last 10 minutes?No?So why are you bothering me for the third time today and asking for money?".I had no calls for a week after that

MBNA were the worst so I decided to wind them up. Try agreeing to pay off all arrears. Give them a fictitious debit card number and listen to them dreaming of the commission!!! And then when it isn't authorised listen to the anger and pure hatred from them. The single best thing about BR was telling those leeches0
