I am a contractor operating via Ltd company.
I have an old public sector pension ticking away in the background.
My Q is:-
Can I use my yearly pension allowance as an AVC into this public sector pension?

No you can't. You will have to still be an employee to contribute.
Set up your own personal pension instead.0 -
Thanks, thought not.
I'm not and they keep sending me AVC letters as recently as yesterday?
That's public sector communication for you.0 -

They should be sending you a yearly statement. Is that what you're referring to?That's public sector communication for you.
Nothing to do with the public sector. The letters will be coming from your AVC provider and they certainly should be keeping in touch.0 -

Quite right. Anyone with an AVC/DC benefit (even if their main benefit is FS & even if their DC element is invested in "scheme funds" rather than an external AVC provider) should be getting an annual statement. It's a legal requirement on all schemes OP, not just public sector. It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, it only takes one match to burn a thousand trees. As well, the cars are all passing me, bright lights are flashing me.
Johnny Was. Once.
Why did he think "systolic" ?0
