One for the brokers

Hi

I obtained an AIP from YBS in April for their offset plus friends option mortgage.
Fast forward to now and I am close to an accepted offer on a place.
The EA selling are offering a 1k cash incentive for any buyer on certain properties who uses their mortgage adviser and solicitor. They are adamant that they have aforementioned YBS deal among their offers. 1k is not to be sniffed at but i dont want another credit check only to find out they havent got that particular mortgage to offer. Afaik YBS only deal with direct business. Have you ever heard of YBS dealing with business from intermediaries ?
The second question is, another EAs mortgage adviser said that there are another 7-8 lenders out there that offer the friends offset option. Afaik theres only YBS and Leeds BS, is it true that there are others who offer that AND deal with intermediaries?

Thanks a lot, just trying to keep credit checks to a minimum for the full mortgage application so answers to the above would be much appreciated.

YBS do not deal with intermediaries. They have a subsidiary called Accord (they are the puts in my opinion). Also Accords SVR rate is higher than YBS.

I have no idea how these £1k cashback schemes work but have a read on these forums - im sure its a swindle in some round about way.

There are lenders who deal with intermediaries that do have offset accounts. I have never come across a friends offset thought?
