Today, I managed to apply for and get a standard bank account as an upgrade from my basic one.
This has me so happy as I guess it's the first step to a rebuilt credit file.

How long have you been debt free for HBS? they told me no yesterday
I'm not quite debt free yet but I've paid off 3 accounts - got about another £2k to go. All accounts are under payment arrangements, just plugging away!
Don't think I'd have got it stand-alone, but I kept my basic account in good standing for about 2 years and went for an upgrade.

Also sorted through some old mail and shredded DCA letters for debts that have been paid off or are confirmed statute barred
