  • Fantastic day for you! Check out my lucky day
First let me start by saying that we had a spot of bad luck a few weeks ago my boyfriend lost his job. With a mortgage and all the lovely bills that come along with a new house to pay we found this rather stressful and the only jobs that seemed to be around should not even be called jobs (ie: selling Kirby Hoovers door to door! Yes people still do this)
Well today my boyfriend was offered and accepted a fantastic job with a great company, I got promoted to a Senior within my company and was informed of a £2000 pay rise that comes along with my new position and last but definately not least we received a letter from Barclays Bank offering us £1110.00 settlement for the bank charges that we were in the process of claiming back. I almost peed myself with excitement when my boyfriend called me at work and after stressing for 3 weeks e are sitting at home right now drinking a cold one!
We only sent out one letter to Barclays using the template on moneysavingexpert.com, attached a copy of our bank statements with charges highlighted and a print out of the charges with statuatory interest added at the end of May 2007. It came to £1861.00 (which broken down worked out around £1450.00 + interest) so we feel that £1110.00 was a reasonable settlement as it took no real effort to do.
We received a letter from Barclays after about 7 days informing us they were investigating our claim and hoped to resolve it withing 30 days and then about 2 weeks later we received another letter saying that they were still investigating our claim and hoped to have a solution by 23rd July 2007.
    We get our money in 14 - 21 days RESULT!!! W I N N E R
