You need to drink less fizzy drinks.

There's nothing particularly special about that toothpaste. What does your own dentist say about erosion on your teeth? Is it a problem?
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

no toothpaste in the world (despite what they claim) can repair the damage from acid erosion.

If you are worried about damage to your teeth cut down the diet coke drinking, as well as any other sources of dietary acid ie fruit juices, fruit teas etc.

Dont brush your teeth for at least an hour after drinking something acid as you are just brushing the acid into the teeth.

From gum disease to decay to acid erosion the answer is not a magic toothpaste , mouthwash etc , unfortunately it is a much more difficult solution ..... change the behaviour that causes the damage.

enamel is eroded when something acidic is in contact with it. Enamel is the strongest substance in the body, harder even than bone. dentists have to use diamond tipped drills to cut through it. No toothpaste is going to "coat" a tooth to stop acid penetrating. No toothpaste will linger in the mouth long enough to neutralise the acid in a drink and if it did your mouth would foam and fizz every time you drank your coke! In other words no toothpaste can prevent acid erosion.

Toothpaste advertising is just that advertising most of the claims have very little real science behind them. If you dont want acid erosion cut down on the acid.

Using a straw when you drink diet coke may help avoid tooth decay and staining. Always keep a water bottle handy and have a swig after having coke. See a dentist to understand your dental condition.

Regenerate toothpaste and treatment, which I bought from Boots, is claimed by Unilever to have been proven to repair enamel. I've bought it, am using the toothpaste, but have not yet done the 3 day treatment (it looks a bit fiddly)

See the following article and film

I'm afraid the 'Article' is just a 'product news' section of the BDJ, and not a proper scientific review of it's effectiveness. It's just a company press release basically!

And the video is only talking about 'early stages' of erosion - so when there is still substance there to remineralise. In those early stages, ordinary fluoride toothpaste will repair the damage. Even saliva would repair early damage given the right conditions. The right conditions being less erosive stuff in the diet!
