Hi, been paying Aktiv Kapital a small amount each month towards an acknowledged debt. Received a letter recently telling me they aren't happy with my payments and if I don't contact them about it they will "review my account and financial status which includes looking at my housing and employment status"
What does this mean exactly and what will happen?

It means they would like you to pay more and are hoping that will prompt/scare you to.
It could mean they may consider taking court action against you to try to obtain a CCJ.
They cannot find out your employment status unless you tell them or unless they take court action. They could in theory check to see if you are the owner of the address they have for you. But it is unlikely that they actually would do so.
The supposed inference is that if you were a homeowner they may be able to get a charging order secured on the house or if you are employed they may be able to get an attachment of earnings. But they'd have to take court action and then you'd have to not keep up with the payments the court ordered before either of these things could possibly happen.
How much is the debt (the larger it is the more likely they would take court action).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
