hey there guys, this is my first post on here today :T
i have had a run in with this company called loan spotter today and i thort i better pass this on like thousands of others already have.
so today i recived this phone call from loan spotter caliming they have £750 garntreed for me today and all thats needed is a payment of £54.95 and within 2 hours the loan is mine. all seems ok however!! i was told there is no charge to get the loan and that a lady called sam would be dealing with myself and my account throughout the course of the loan. however i didnt have my card on me at the time of the call so i asked her to ring me back 1 hour later. so 1 hour passed and the phone rang however it wasnt sam but someone called shelly which got alrm bells ringing stright away. after makeing a few calls to see if i could find this money to get the loan a friend of mine asked me to get some very simple info from the comapny before she gave me the money.
i asked the lady for addresses phone numbers regerstion numbers eta eta to which she provided without hesatation. however after asking her if they had a website i could look at she replys very clearly NO. however google is my best friend and it claimed differently. all the details she gave me did not match up to what was stated on the website loanspotter.co.uk.... after explaining this to the lady she became very unhappy and started to get very grumy down the phone to which i replyed i have found your website and checked other online fourms and it appears this is a con. her repounce amazed me "mr fry we dont have to help you by giving you this money if you dont take this loan its your loss no-one elses. to which i replyed i wanted the loan just dont wanna be ripped off and would like a day or 2 to think things through and to make my incuies into the comapny to which is replyed F*ck off and then slamming the phone down.....
please becareful out there guys they also ring on witheld numbers. the reason behide wanting the loan is to start my own buniess and needed the loan to get set up. however looks like its gunna take slightly longer now lol.

Yes loan spotter has been mentioned various times on here but unfortuantely people dont tend to check the internet before parting with the cash so it might not stop anyone using loan spotter.
Well done on not falling for it, scrimp and save to get what you need OP.0 -
A cold call turned out to be a scam?? Whatever next?
It took until the second call before alarm bells started ringing? Seriously?
You think a cold call is going to help you start up your own business?0 -

Buniess? I do hope you made that typo only because you were excited and were typing very very fast.
Don't accept loans from companies cold-calling you.
Can't you get a normal, lower risk, business development loan from a high-street bank or something?
Especially take to heart what Apples2 wrote above. It pays to be naturally suspicious of anyone calling you up.Goals

They said there's no charge to get the loan but you need to make a payment of £54.95 to get the loan? Bizarre but I believe the person you spoke to did come out with that baloney.0

To be fair, if you plan to go into buniess they're cheap and plentiful
You could start a business with just two (a boy and a girl, one of each) and then after a short period of time you have many more to play with!
Here's some I prepared earlier;

As is said on here time and time again, never buy anything or enter into any agreement/contract from cold callers EVER!!!
Break this golden rule and you leave yourself open to at best being ripped off, at worst scammed out of £1000s of pounds.0 -
What a load of crooks!!
I received a call from them a few weeks back and it seemed too goood to be true. I then said that i would like some time to think about it. They called back and I catagorically said that I did not wish to proceed.
4 weeks late they took money from my account. I did not notice this for a week.
I called them and told them that I had declined the offer to proceed and the jumped up little oik on the end of the phone (Reece) proceeded to attempt to start an arguement by calling me a liar.
I then requested that he shut his gobby little mouth and take notes and listen to the call. As I said that i did not wish to proceed this would constitute theft on their part.
I heard nothing back so called them. It was established that what I said was correct and the girl on the phone offered me a refund less £5 admin fee. I declined this offer as i did not see how they could apply an admin fee for an issue that they have caused.
The debit card transaction forced me to go overdrawn and I will be getting charged £10 od fee and £6 a day for 5 days. I expect them to pay this.
We then established that they would not apply the fee and that they would process a full refund on Monday 24th June. This would take up to 4 working days. I catagorically asked"so this will be in my account no later than the following Friday", I was told yes. I then asked for a copy of the report into what had happened including a lessons learned report, as taking monies from an account without permission is illegal. I was told I would receive this within 48 hours (after really pushing for a timescale)
The rfund had not arrived by 30th June, so I called back, I was told to give it until the next day.
I called back on 1st July to be told that the refund still had not been processed so obviously, I was a little miffed. I then asked to speak to someone in authority. I was told that I was speaking to the highest person in the office. So I asked some basic questions.. whay was I told last monday etc... I was then told that the refund had been processed on Friday 27th June and I was no longer their customer so they did not have to speak to me. I then asked for the transaction number of the refund so that I can trace it. They hung up!!
I called back repeatedly throughout the day and was eventually blocked at the reception. When I did get through, I was repeatedly told, you are no longer our customer and we do not have to speak to you.
I eventually spoke to a gentleman called Steve James, a sarcastic tool of the first degree, with zero customer service skills. who proceeded to laugh down the phone at me at every question that I asked.
I have established that it is the same team that take the inbound calls as it is the outbound calls, they are more concerned with making commission on the outbound calls.
They are sales agents, not customer service, with no understanding of what the legal requirement they have. I strongly urge people to take them on, stand your ground, they really do not know how to handle it.
Just for the record Loanspotter, you bunch of thieves and cowboys, hanging up when it gets tough and laughing at the customer does not make it go away. You have really riled me up and I am seriously coming after your business.
You should have taken me seriously!!

I would like to make a complaint about Loanspotter.
I received a phone call from the a few weeks back and went through the sales speal and provided them with my Bank Card details. I then asked why the would need to take monies from my account, I then said that I would like time to think about it. I was told ok and they would call back in an hour.
When the gentleman called back I stated that I did not wish to proceed, he then hung up on me.
Over four weeks later, they took money from my account, I did not notice this for a week, however once I did I called them. I spoke to a gentleman called Reece, who instead of listening, taking notes and providing a resolution, proceeded to call me a liar and try to start an argument.. When I responded by telling him to tone it down, shut up, get his pen out and take notes, he stated that I was being rude and put the phone down on me.
I called back the next day and spoke to someone else, there is a real culture there of shouting over the customer to try and bully the customer into submission, this does not work with me and they hung up again. I called back, eventually spoke Reece again and calmly told him to dig out the voice recordings. I then also asked for a copy of the recordings and a report as to what they had done regarding the incident, root cause, outcome, lessons learned etc.. as I had not yet decided what action I was going to be taking in regards to this against the individual.
I called back on Monday 23rd June and spoke to a girl and as told that they had listened to the recordings and what I had said was correct, she then offered me a refund, less a £5 admin fee, obviously I declined, she then proceeded with the opening sentence “This is how it is gonna be….”, I responded with “Actually, this is how it is gonna be..” and we then agreed once I had stated my case that a full refund would be processed that day, I asked when this money would be in my account, I was told no later than Friday 27th June 2014. I then said that I was also overdrawn as part of this issue and would be getting charged by the Bank. I was told that they do not deal with compensation issues. My understanding is that if I am financially out of pocket as a result of an action by a third party (especially as the monies were taken without permission) that the third party was legally obliged to pay these costs.
The refund was not in my account on 27thth June 2014, so I gave it until the Monday. On Monday 30th I called and was told it had been done on the 23rd and to give it another day. I called on 1st July 2014 and was told that the refund had not been processed, it had been “Processed”, this terminology apparently means that it had been put to the refund team to be processed, I think this terminology is probably the most ambiguous I have ever head.
Obviously I was not happy and I asked to speak to the refund team, I was told that they do not speak to customers, I am not really sure what they do then as they obviously do not process refunds. I did state this point to the “advisor”, I was then hung up on.
I called repeatedly throughout the day and was told that I was getting my refund and I was no longer their customer so they did not have to speak to me.
I eventually spoke to Steve James, I really would have loved to have the conversation with him face to face. He proceeded to laugh at every sentence I said and mimic me, I did ask him whether he was doing that because he did not know what he was doing, he became abusive (without swearing) so I asked him whether he really was that stupid or whether he was playing up to an audience….., he then said that I was being rude, which in fairness was the only legible sentence that we had throughout the conversation from him.
He then said that the refund was done on Friday 27th June and I would need to wait for it, I said that was not an acceptable time line and wanted to know why I was misinformed at the offset and whether I could have the transaction number on the refund. He said that he did not have this information at hand but would contact the refund team. He then stated that I was no longer their customer and he was going to instruct the reception to block me and not to call back. He then hung up (A real culture there of firing off a last sentence and hanging up).
I called back at 3pm to ask whether the refund team had provided the information, I was told to go away, that they were busy and I was being annoying (In fairness that was the point). They then stated that the refund team would do it when they were good and ready and my calls would be blocked.
I then called back 27 times in the afternoon, all of which were hung up on at the point of answer without acknowledging the call.
I then rang on a different phone and got through. The call lasted 30 seconds and I was hung up on.
The company hang up when they can not respond to a question or shout over a customer, this is sharp practice.
I believe that taking the monies from my account when implicitly told that I do not wish to proceed is an act of theft and holding onto the monies after the event is both illegal and immoral.
I will be taking this action via the small claims court if required.
OFT – Please take this as an official complaint
Loanspotter – Please take this as legal notice of my intent0 -
on a final point
Loanspotter staff!!
Get a proper job you bunch of crooks0 -
You must have, on the first or second call, given them your bank details, as they are not psychic.
This is how these loan brokers operate, and you should check your account regularly, as it is not unknown for other connected companies to take money as well.
You are wasting your time, and money, with all these phone calls, arguments and threats.
Just write, via normal post, as it will tell you on their website, for a refund (less admin charge they can make), and it should be sent.
There are thousands of threads on here about these brokers, and still people hand over their bank details...:wall:

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.
