Virgin Media See Reason (In The End)

I have been Ad since January. All through my BR I was allowed to keep my VM broadband/phone/TV.
I have been on PAYG with Tesco Mobile since, but whilst browsing the web looking at sim ony deals, I noticed VM had a sim for £15/month which gives you unlimited minutes/text and 2GB of data. Ideal. I thought.
I applied on-line only to get near the end of the process to see the inevitable 'credit check'. Groan!! I went through the motions anyway, knowing full well what the outcome would be......DECLINED!!
I though to my self, OK, I know VM have a duty to protect themselves against potential non-payments or people who look like (on paper) that they may be a financial risk - but here I was, AD, no credit card, no IPA, not a penny of debt, more money now than I have ever had in my bank, a full-time well paid job and they are saying (well, I expect the check goes through credit agencies like Experian etc) No, no you can't pay us £15/month. Well, I think I can, so I called VM and ask to speak the someone who deals with customer credit checks.
I explained to him my situation, and although very sympathetic he declined my application - all he could advise me to do is to appeal to VM via some sort of credit referral team they have, explain to them and ring us back for the decision.
Anyway, I called VM back today and asked about the outcome of my appeal.
The nice man told me because I am a long standing VM customer, never missed a payment etc, I could have up to two mobile contracts with VM:p. I explained that I only need one of your 30 day rolling sim-only contracts. He said no problem, set up the account and the nano sim will be here tomorow.:j
Happy days.

I'm a virgin customer and when I called about a mobile (working on the same theory as the OP) I was told they were in fact a separate company working in partnership with Virgin as a 'trusted supplier' and nothing to do with Virgin as a company.0
