discharged notification

Hi All

Just a quick one.

When you are discharged from bankruptcy do your creditors get notified automatically?

Just that ive just had one say they didn't received notification that I was discharged, yet its is for all to see on a credit check. And also most of my other creditors were notified.

Any thoughts?

I cant imagine creditors get any notification other than the one from the OR that tells them if they got a slice of your assets/IPA and that they are closing the case.

No need for the creditors to be told until the OR has established a final dividend. Don't concern yourself anyway. Nothing to do with you and not your problem. Any contact you had with your creditors should have ceased the second your bankruptcy petition was stamped. As far as your creditors are concerned you ceased to exist at that point. If you are still having dealings with them, then stop. Nothing to gain.

So im best waiting until the 6 years are up on my bankruptcy (which in this case is may 2015) has dropped off my credit file? And if these defaults are still showing on my file after that I should contact them then?

Email discharge.queries@insolvency.gsi.gov.uk with a request for confirmation of discharge.

Include details of full name, date of birth, current and previous address, national insurance number and court and court reference number

They will then send you an official confirmation that you can forward to any creditors who are being difficult.
