Received our mortgage offer, is there anything else that could go wrong???

We got our DIP, offered on a house, accepted, applied for our mortgage, we received mortgage offer this morning.
Now, is there any WAY at all that we could lose the property? We have to hand in our 30 day notice to our landlord and I'm a little worried since we wont actually get the keys until 15th August

Yes.
The searches may find all sort so issues - land contamination, neighbour disputes, your vendor has stolen someone elses land and put a fence around it (I have had that 3 times this year!).
Your solicitor will advise against handing in your notice until you exchange... you can ignore that advice if you wish.
Plenty could go wrong, although in reality if its a normal suburban property it is unlikely to.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. What searches? Isn't the home report enough?0

You are not safe until you exchange contracts, and then there is still a very small risk until you complete! Try not to worry!0

We had a great survey on first house we liked.
Got mortgage, paid for searches and initial valuations....
And then the solicitor uncovered an issue on subsidence. No nearby properties had the same issue from conversations with locals.
In fact I recall posting it all on here in 2011.
We were FTB and I just decided I'd been spooked enough and took the hit and looked elsewhere.
That property sold soon after for £10k more than I had it secured for! Not everyone gets bothered by these things.
Try not to worry. What will be will be0 -
Smart question!0

I'm in Scotland and I'm hoping the answer to your question is no ! We are due to complete on Friday and communication from my Solicitor has been sporadic, Mortgage offered 5 weeks ago, I know the vendor is ready, they move on Friday also. I've paid the deposit, fees and stamp duty and all she is waiting on is the transfer of funds from Mortgage company and one final report - whatever that is !ive changed addresses with everyone, arranged utilities etc and really am in a state of limbo0
