Had a hell of a bumpy ride since deciding to go with nationwide, still waiting on our AIP!!! Here's the timeline to far:
16/6/14 - Broker applies for AIP - decision referred (not sure why)
19/6/14 - 3mths bank statements, pay slips supplied
23/6/14 - Ask for update - Broker calls told Nationwide are behind, could take 48h
24/6/14 - Nationwide request "Confirmation of Gifted Deposit" Forms
25/6/14 - Broker uploads said forms
27/6/14 - Ask for update - Broker advised current wait times are 48-72h
30/6/14 - Ask for update - Broker advised still 48h as nobody has looked at the case since last week! Advised that the underwriters will be made aware we've been waiting over a week.
All this just for the AIP!!!
Is this normal? Is anyone else going through anything similar?
Cheers!

Im not a massive user or nationwide but your AIP must have referred. If thats the case an underwriter will look over the case before issuing an AIP at which point if the full application has been submitted they will insutrct the valuation if it has been accepted.
So it actually becomes a full application with underwriting.
Thats my understanding but I could be wrong.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thanks for your reply.
AIP was referred. Reason as yet unknown.
So you're saying we could make the full application before hearing about the AIP? Or that once we've got the (underwritten) AIP, the full application will only require the valuation etc?0 -
More likely to look at a full application before an AIP in terms of priority.0

The last time i used nationwide I knew the aip would refer (due to bad credit). I submitted the full application and instead of getting an AIP, we were told the valuation had been instructed which is as good as an offer (assuming the valuation comes back ok).
These should be questions your asking your broker though - not that I mind answering but its what you are paying them for.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Oh don't worry, I've been keeping the broker busy with questions, lol.
I was mainly just wondering if anyone else has been in the same boat?0 -
Am I able to ring up Nationwide to get an update myself, or is it broker-only as they have done the application through their system?0
