Hi,
We're very close to the mortgage affordability limits on a property we're looking to buy. My wife works for the NHS on a salary of £47k pa but currently works 22.5 hours a week part time so earns £28.5k.
She's been considering increasing her hours anyway to 30 hours per week and this will really help our affordability. We're 99% sure she'll be allowed as they're really short staffed and her team is being propped up by locums. If she does this and gets a copy of the change form or a letter from her boss to this effect, will we be able to put the new salary of 37k on the application, even though the previous pay slips won't show this?
Thanks

If she can send in her revised contract of employment then this will be okay.0

Lisbong I am presuming she is a dr? Is she in a formal training programme or staff grade?
On my last flat I was close to affordability and therefore I needed them to count the incremental rise I was due to get the following august. They were happy to do that as long as I got a letter confirming I was due it. HR took so long to get round to it that I got my boss to write it and they never questioned it. They must think head of department consultants have integrity
Therefore I imagine if you can get written confirmation of the change it wouldn't be a problem. However, is she sure they will allow her to change right now as I know the less than full time training committee only meet twice a year for my area and outside of those times they won't consider a change but that may not be the same elsewhere.0 -
Hi,
She's a Hospital Pharmacist so probably a similar situation. HR will be crap so most likely will get something from her boss. I'll obviously discuss this potential lenders but just wanted an idea first.
