Reasonable time for disciplinary

Hi all. I received a letter in the post yesterday inviting me to a disciplinary meeting on Tuesday. The incident happened nearly 3 months ago, and I had the investigatory meeting nearly 2 months ago. Could this be classed as an unreasonable delay?

No. IT could be that it has taken 2 months to collect statements and other facts, it isn't unreasonable in my view.

No. I've known disciplinaries which have and many months since allegation being made to investigation with a further delay of many months while the employer decided where they were going with it.

Are you in a union?? You have to be given sufficient time to prepare your case. ALWAYS seek advice before responding.

No, but it could well be an unreasonably short time for you to prepare your defence.

You could ask for a week or so's delay and the employer would be unwise to refuse.

I'm not in a union. I do feel that this all could have been dealt with in a much quicker time frame though. I get the feeling that they were waiting to find a replacement

I presume you have been there 2 years plus?
Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked
