Not sure if this is the right section but I am looking around for.a shallow casserole dish with lid, the LeCreuset sort, cast iron with enamel inside but not at LC crazy prices. I think Lidl or Aldi have them occasionally for about £30. Are these any good and do they come on sale often?
Thanks G

I have one from aldi, and I love it.
I've had it for years, use it at least once a week, and if I had room I would have collected other things in the range when they've come up.
I think they're in store every couple of months, its well worth waiting in my opinion.0 -

Hiya, not the same but for years I have used several glass dishes of different sizes. The lid is plastic and is very handy for fridge or freezer.
When i cook with these dishes, I use tin foil as a lid in the oven.
Bought in Asda.
Different again! I cook casserole in my slow cooker.
I think the La creuset dishes are heavy. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -

I was going to say Sainsburys as well. I got a cream cast iron one from there with a lid for £20 half price. Well worth the money imo. Make it do double duty as well, I used mine for cooking rhubarb.0
