Most of the time it is, although they can and do refer.
Getting through the credit check is the easy bit, they are very detailed in their underwriting approach and their criteria is very specific on income and property specifically.
If your broker is not used to using them, ensure he/she has checked your entire case with them in advance.
Typically there are lenders with better rates that can be flexible on credit histories and slightly easier to manage and potentially better rates.
Also, ensure you know that you need an additional solicitor on their Premier panel (only 4 on there) which comes with additional cost and timings.
